Function development

The complexity involved in the development of drives poses new challenges for the automotive industry in terms of time, cost, quality and handling with respect to this technology. The challenge here is to cut through new functional issues, structure them in an intelligent way and then implement them. One of the advantages of model-based function development is the ability to simulate implemented functions on the computer and experience them in the vehicle through rapid prototyping.

IGEL AG uses the tool Matlab/Simulink in this area. The range of tasks spans from the development of detailed solutions for the mass balancing of crank drives to the design of entire drive units. Among other things, drive concepts can be evaluated in terms of dynamics and consumption.
