IGEL presentation at the CADFEM Simulation Conference

The CADFEM Simulation Conference will take place in Kassel from 16 to 17 October 2019. Ms Griesbauer from IGEL AG will be speaking at the conference on the topic of ‘Analysis of the differences between interface BCs in rotating and stationary fluids in stationary applications using the example of a pump’.

Presentation exposé:

ANSYS CFX is used to determine the pressure loss of a pump in a stationary application (single load point). The difference of the interface conditions ‘mixing planes’ and ‘frozen rotor’ is investigated between rotating and stationary fluid domains, with regard to the formed flow and the effect on pressure loss. The results are validated with the help of a pump test bench. Based on the results, a recommendation for the selection of a suitable interface condition for future simulations is developed.
